Modeling as a Leadership Tool --
Dear
Colleague,
Your employees and subordinates
look up to you. Indeed your behavior on the job may be the best
coaching tool you have. Employees watch you and observe how you do
the things you do, how you communicate with them and the way you
handle situations. Many will then approach what they do in the same
way. To this day there are things I do because I learned or simply
picked it up from my bosses. I use their exact words and motion the
same way in spite of myself! I bet you do too.
For that reason, one of your best coaching tools is you. Behave the
way you expect your officers to - or anyone else you influence. To
be a great coach, you must be a great example.
