Corrections Leader!

A Publication for Offender Reform, Reentry, Resettlement and Re-Integration

Issue: # 10108

Happy New Year and welcome to this issue of "Corrections Leader".  2007 was a good year to Joyfields Institute for many reasons.  Two that are notable;
  1. The Institute launched the International Prisons Leadership Education Series.  The hands-on training programs gave participants a roadmap for effectively tackling offender reform and recidivism.  We conducted 2 international programs and visited with 3 great Georgia facilities where peers interacted, networked and shared best practices.  Participants included national and state director generals, commissioners, deputy commissioners, directors, national health policy leads, superintendents, NGO program heads and other officers from Ghana, Gibraltar, Lithuania, South Africa, United Kingdom and USA.  View photos from the programs.

  2. The write-up for the housing model of the Michigan Prisoner Reentry Initiative - MPRI is now complete and you are first to get it!  The article details the model which is designed for the management of reentering inmates.  Hope you find it useful and good reading.

Finally, we have scheduled programs for 1st half of 2008.  View dates and locations below.

THANK YOU for letting us serve you and here's wishing us all much success in 2008.
